Features

Everything a serious listener wants

Full command over your library and your playback — without the clutter.

  • Bring your library

Import from a local folder, cloud storage, the share sheet, or a quick Wi-Fi transfer — MP3, M4B, M4A, FLAC, AAC, or OGG. Crane pulls in metadata and cover art automatically and lays it out in a clean grid.

  • Control your speed

Listen anywhere from 0.5× to 3.5×. Speed sticks with each book, so moving from a slow literary novel to a fast-paced thriller is one tap away.

  • Bookmarks & notes

Drop a bookmark at any moment with an optional note, then flip back through them anytime — perfect for a passage you know you’ll want to find again.

  • Sleep smarter

Sleep-timer presets from 15 minutes to end-of-chapter, with a quiet fade-out. Sessions that end in sleep are tracked separately so your stats stay honest.

  • Stats that matter

See your listening year: total hours, books finished, a day-by-day heatmap, streaks, top authors and narrators, and per-book progress. Your data, on your device.

  • Works everywhere

Browse your library, play, and control speed — safely — from your dashboard with CarPlay and Android Auto. Background playback and lock-screen controls on every device.

  • Syncs with Hardcover

Link a book to your Hardcover.app library and Crane keeps it honest for you — flips it to “currently reading,” pushes your real progress, and marks it finished when you’re done. No more updating your shelf by hand while you’re driving or walking.

A look inside

About

Made for people who really listen

Crane Audiobook Player is built by Cranesoft LLC — one person, independent, with no investors and no advertisers to answer to. That is not a fun fact. It is the reason nothing on this page comes with a catch: there is nobody here who needs your attention sold. There’s no server to log into and no subscription to renew. Crane works entirely with files you own, on devices you control. Your listening history, your bookmarks, your speed preferences — they stay on your device.

Why Crane

  • No ads. Ever. Your listening experience stays clean.
  • No subscription. Ever. Listen at your own pace.
  • Your library, your rules. Import from anywhere, organize however you like.
  • Cross-platform — iOS, Android, CarPlay, Android Auto. Same library, different screens.
  • Built for serious listeners: per-book stats, bookmarks, flexible speed.
